Lifebridge's Volunteer Screening Process :

LifeBridge Community is committed to providing a safe and quality program for children/youth in the community.  Because we believe that God expects us to diligently protect the wellbeing of the children we serve all potential volunteers are required to complete a background information and application form and participate in a personal interview with a staff member.  Additionally a criminal background check is part of the volunteer placement procedure.  The background check, conducted by an external professional service, includes criminal records, searches of convictions, arrests, court records, inmate records, and sex offender registries.

Any criminal conviction for a sexual offense involving a minor would disqualify an applicant.  In the case of pedophilic behavior (molestation of a pre-adolescent child) such a conviction will disqualify an individual NO MATTER HOW LONG AGO IT OCCURRED.  Other automatic disqualifiers include submitting false information concerning personal criminal history or being convicted of any of the following:  incest, rape, assaults involving minors, murder, child neglect, domestic violence, kidnapping, child pornography, sodomy, the physical abuse of a minor, and the commission of any crime in complicity with a minor.
